The story of Arela's popular T-shirts continues in INCH
INCH” and the clothing brand Arela, which previously announced that it would cease operations in 2023, have entered into an agreement under which INCH” will continue the production and sale of Arela's most popular cotton t-shirts.
– Arela's decision to close was very sad news for us, as it was for many customers. The t-shirt they developed is one of the best premium t-shirts on the market, many believe it to be the best. In the spring of 2023, we started discussions with the Arela family about the possibility of continuing the story of these unique products in Finland, say INCH entrepreneurs Anu Bergholm and Janne Johansson.
– We felt that INCH" would be the right home for Arela's t-shirts in the future. We already have a long cooperation with INCH and we were able to make an agreement with them to continue the t-shirts with confidence, explains Arela's CEO Maija Arela.

The cornerstone of INCH's range has always been good basics, i.e. minimalist products whose existence is based on the product's properties, rather than trends. They have well-designed cuts, high-quality materials and remain unchanged over the seasons. The position of the best basic products in the market is cemented precisely by customers.
– When customers return to buy the same product again and again, and often buy several pieces at once, it is a sign of a particularly successful product, Bergholm sums up.
- One of the main reasons for the popularity of Arela t-shirts is its unique material, which is custom-made in Turkey for each production batch. The knit has good technical properties and reproduces the colors used in it beautifully. The black is a wonderful deep black and the white is bright and fresh. It also wicks moisture effectively, meaning the knit dries quickly. This feature has garnered praise even among surprising user groups; we have heard positive feedback from, for example, outdoor enthusiasts, sailors and athletes, says Johansson.
– We will continue to produce Arela Kim , Tom and Seela T-shirts completely unchanged. We use Arela’s original patterns, the same high-quality fabric and the products will continue to be sewn in the same factory in Tallinn. We have visited the sewing room and were impressed by their high level of professionalism and excellent quality control process. They also use a highly optimized method of designing the highest possible percentage of fabric usage, which results in the least amount of cutting waste, Johansson says.
The first production batch, which has just been completed, includes black and white Arela Kim and Tom t-shirts. The second production batch is scheduled for early spring 2024 and will also include the popular women's oversize t-shirt model, Seela .
– We will release the products for sale on Independence Day, December 6, 2023, and they will be available at the INCH brick-and-mortar store in Tampere, as well as in our online store at inchstore.com, INCH entrepreneurs rejoice.
