Red Wing shoes has developed care products for their leather shoes that make maintenance easy and simple. They describe this aptly: Handcrafting high-quality shoes requires 80 steps, but you only need 3 steps to keep them in good condition for a long time.
The following care instructions apply to Red Wing Shoes in our selection as well as other similar leather footwear and products.

1. Shoe cleaning
First, clean loose dirt with a damp, clean cloth. For general cleaning, you can use warm water, Red Wing leather cleaner , and a sponge or soft brush. Remove the laces from the shoes so that you can clean even the smallest details and at the same time replace or maintain the laces. Finally, the leather should be cleaned with a damp cloth with detergent and allowed to dry before the next step.

2. Treatment
Treating your boots with a leather conditioner will keep them looking polished and will extend their lifespan. For this step, you can use Red Wing's All Natural Boot Oil or Mink Oil . The product is applied to the leather after cleaning it by applying it either with your hands, a clean cloth or a sponge. Treating with a conditioner will slightly deepen the tone of the leather and give it a smooth and finished surface. Mink oil also improves the moisture resistance of the shoe.

3. Protection
Red Wing Leather Protector creates a breathable protective layer on the surface of leather against water, dirt and stains. The product is sprayed in a thin layer onto the leather after the surface has been thoroughly cleaned and conditioned.
