Marimekko Neat Crossbody Unikko S

The Neat Crossbody S shoulder bag in the Unikko pattern is made of recycled polyester. The bag has an adjustable shoulder strap made of recycled polyamide. The small bag closes with a zipper, and has a zipper pocket and Marimekko brand label on the front. There is a small open pocket inside that the entire bag can be folded into for storage.

Maija Isola created the Unikko pattern, an international icon of pattern design, in 1964. Marimekko founder Armi Ratia thought that it was not possible to capture the true essence of flowers in a pattern. This is why Marimekko's collections did not previously include flowers. Maija Isola designed the Unikko pattern as an abstract interpretation rather than a photorealistic version of the floral theme. Today, the Unikko is a strong symbol of joy and creativity and an important part of Marimekko's design identity.
