Raw jeans are jeans that have not been washed or worn - the most enjoyable part of wearing jeans is left to the wearer. Lee's 101 Z jeans have a place inside where you can write your name and the date of use.

The jeans are woven using a traditional technique, where the shuttle on the loom passes the thread back and forth, creating a selvedge edge on the edge of the fabric. The edge does not fray and looks like a red and white stripe when the leg is turned.
