The Erilainen dress has a narrow fit, a straight cut and the Unikko pattern. The long, sleeveless dress has a deep round front neckline finished with a ribbed trim and a racerback.

Maija Isola created the Unikko pattern, an international icon of pattern design, in 1964. Marimekko's founder Armi Ratia believed that it was not possible to capture the true essence of flowers in a pattern. For this reason, Marimekko's collections did not previously include flowers. Maija Isola therefore designed the Unikko pattern as more of an abstract interpretation than a photorealistic rendition of a floral theme. Today, Unikko is a strong symbol of joy and creativity and an important part of Marimekko's design identity.
