The Luonnos dress has a slim fit, an A-line cut, and features the Unikko pattern, which is created from a lace-like and partially translucent pointelle knit. The long, sleeveless dress has a round neckline at the front and a V-split with button closure at the back neckline. Both the neckline and armholes are finished with binding.

The Unikko pattern, symbolizing creativity and courage, was created at a time when Marimekko's pattern world did not typically include flowers. However, Maija Isola was interested in floral motifs and decided to design an entire series of new, strong floral patterns.
