The Tekniikka shirt dress has a relaxed fit, a straight cut, and the Piccolo print. The long dress features a collar, button closure, and side seam pockets. The back has a yoke seam and a pleat, and the dress comes with a narrow, detachable D-ring belt. The pleated cuffs have slits and buttoned cuffs. There are hem slits in the side seams.

In her very first year at Marimekko in 1953, Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi created Piccolo, a striped fabric painted with free brushstrokes. Three years later, a shirt made from the fabric called Jokapoika appeared in stores and on the streets – seemingly permanently.
