The storage jar, printed with the white Unikko pattern, is made of white ceramic. The jar has a cork lid with the Marimekko logo on the inside. We recommend hand washing the lid.

Maija Isola created the Unikko pattern, an international icon of pattern design, in 1964. Marimekko founder Armi Ratia thought that it was not possible to capture the true essence of flowers in a pattern. This is why Marimekko's collections did not previously include flowers. Maija Isola designed the Unikko pattern as an abstract interpretation rather than a photorealistic version of the floral theme. Today, the Unikko is a strong symbol of joy and creativity and an important part of Marimekko's design identity.
