The Zip Top Backpack is made of polyester and features a jacquard knit Unikko pattern. The spacious backpack closes with a zipper, has one large zippered pocket on the front, and open pockets on the sides. Inside, there is a large padded pocket for a laptop. The adjustable shoulder straps are padded. A Marimekko keychain hangs on one side and a Marimekko brand label is on the front.

Symbolizing creativity and courage, Unikko was created at a time when flowers were not typically part of Marimekko's pattern world. However, Maija Isola was interested in floral motifs and decided to design an entire series of new, strong floral patterns.
