The large plate in the shape of a poppy flower is made of ceramic with a burgundy glaze. The colored glaze gives the product a vibrant color.

Symbolizing creativity and courage, Unikko was born at a time when flowers were not a part of Marimekko's design world. However, Maija Isola was interested in the floral motif and decided to design a whole series of new, strong floral patterns.
